The DCMD Testing Coordination Branch needs support for system owner and stakeholder engagement during development, testing, and production phases of data collection functional areas for the Decennial Census. This includes coordinating solution-level testing and ensuring systems are reliable, production-ready, and compliant with USCB DCMD test coordination requirements.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and risk-based testing strategies.
- Knowledge of cloud-based test automation (e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure).
- Familiarity with accessibility testing, performance testing, and security-related test automation.
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis of all data into, out of, and within the DOC as needed.
- Responsible for data mapping and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) activities as needed.
- Support routine data management processes and ad hoc user requests as well as perform testing activities as needed.
- Write, execute, and manage test cases, including validating those written by stakeholders.
- Support defect tracking and test case management using tools such as Jira and the X-Ray plugin.
- Record and document defects with detailed replication steps and supporting evidence, such as screenshots.
- Explore and assess opportunities for implementing automated test scenarios to improve testing efficiency.
Other
- Requires two (2) years of experience in a related field.
- Federal experience with U.S. Census Bureau (USCB), Department of Commerce (DOC), or similar large-scale government testing programs.
- Requires a Bachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) degree in math, statistics, operations research, economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Requires related industry certifications.
- Selected candidates may undergo a government security investigation and must fulfill eligibility criteria for accessing classified information.
