Caris Life Sciences is seeking to improve the human condition across multiple diseases, including cancer, by developing computer vision-based machine learning algorithms and analytic pipelines to support translational research.
Requirements
- PhD in Data Science, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or related field with exposure to biology.
- 1 – 3 years’ experience in data science.
- Strong understanding of biology and pathology, with the ability to build statistical and machine learning solutions.
- Proficient in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++); Python preferred.
- Experience working in Linux environments and using version control tools such as Git.
- Practical experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, OpenCV).
- Hands-on experience with tasks such as classification, segmentation, and object detection.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, refine, and test algorithms and workflows to support strategic goals in image biomarker discovery, molecular profiling, and translational R&D.
- Collaborate with pathologists and scientists to develop ground truth datasets and extract features from whole slide images (WSIs) and other modalities.
- Build predictive models using structured and unstructured data, integrating imaging, molecular, and clinical data.
- Process and analyze large, multi-source datasets across various data types.
- Support ad hoc analyses and reporting requests with accurate and interpretable results.
- Follow best practices in code development, documentation, and model delivery in a collaborative team environment.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
