Energy Aspects is looking to hire a Data Scientist to join their New York office to work closely with their natural gas, power, and emissions teams. The role involves modeling fundamental energy supply and demand, building data offerings and capabilities, and contributing to the full cycle of data mining, model building, maintenance, and analysis.

Requirements

  • Python: Ability to write production level code with an excellent understanding of best practices, including regression and timeseries forecast models.
  • Understanding of code life cycle best practices (package management, code reusability, version control, and cloud deployment).
  • Ability to build efficient queries across complex data models, understand and update existing data models in SQL or timeseries databases.
  • Excellent statistical analysis skills.
  • Use of cloud data platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
  • Basic knowledge of Docker, Airflow, Github.
  • Ability to design new data models with SQL.

  • Understanding of the importance of data governance and metadata.
  • Energy sector experience, especially that relevant to electricity and weather is not essential but would be advantageous.
