Whatnot is seeking a Data Scientist specializing in Growth Marketing to optimize marketing initiatives and enhance overall business performance by leveraging data for strategic analytical insights.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (or R) for data manipulation, modeling, and analysis.
- Experience with marketing measurement techniques such as Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), incrementality testing, and causal inference.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing ecosystems, including paid social, search, display, email, and affiliate channels.
- Proven ability to design and analyze A/B tests and multivariate experiments.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and interpret experiments to optimize marketing performance across various channels such as paid media, lifecycle marketing, and influencer partnerships.
- Build and maintain attribution models to better understand customer journeys and evaluate channel impact.
- Develop forecasting and optimization tools to allocate marketing budgets efficiently and predict campaign outcomes.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and engineering teams to create data-driven strategies for audience segmentation and personalized messaging.
- Establish scalable measurement frameworks for new marketing channels and campaigns to ensure consistent performance tracking.
- Support the development of innovative analytical solutions that drive growth and improve marketing ROI.
Other
- 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or applied statistics, preferably within marketing, growth, or advertising domains.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
- Present actionable insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership through clear and compelling narratives.
