The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine Research Team needs a Data Scientist to analyze large data sets, identify relationships and trends, and deploy predictive models to support research efforts.
Requirements
- Data analysis programming and visualization languages (R, Python, SAS)
- Applied statistics including MVA, MLR
- Independent/collaborative development and deployment of common machine learning (ML) models
- Data visualization using software (Tableau, Power Bi)
- Formal training/professional experience using relational databases (MySQL, T-SQL, SQL Server)
- Proficiency with R, SAS, SQL, and Tableau
- Experience with substance use disorder research (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Independently or collaboratively performing statistical analysis and/or ML pipeline development using large and often disparate data sets
- Identifying important relationships/trends
- Deploying predictive models
- Summarizing/communicating findings to technical/non-technical stakeholders
- Developing and deploying common machine learning (ML) models
- Performing data visualization using software
- Managing and analyzing data using relational databases
Other
- MS degree
- 3 years of related experience
- Master’s degree in statistics or related field plus 3 or more years of related experience (preferred)
- Working at a desk for long periods of time; utilizing a computer; repetitive motion
- Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM shift
- Occasional in-person meetings in Lexington, KY
