The Department of Epidemiology at the University of Florida is seeking a Data Scientist I to support the national All of Us project by assisting in curriculum development, testing new database functionalities, and performing advanced data analysis to advance research and analysis of the All of Us Researcher Workbench.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field and two years of experience; master’s degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field.
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex data types and a public web ecosystem with privacy permission issues
  • Coding experience, including querying relational databases
  • Working knowledge of Python, R, and SAS
  • Advanced skills with Jupyter Notebook and SQL
  • Experience and proficiency in data management
  • Knowledge of/experience with creating databases or data warehouses.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in curriculum development, testing new functionalities of the database, and performing advanced data analysis.
  • Responsible for ongoing evaluation and revision of the curriculum in development for use of the All of Us database.
  • Revising the curriculum content to increase the communication effectiveness.
  • Identifying curriculum changes needed by the shift to the Verily platform beginning in September of 2025.
  • Provide testing and support of data organization and functionality requested by All of Us project managers.
  • Completing NIH technical assistance requests that require subject matter experts.
  • Reviewing new data types, features, and functionalities within the Researcher Workbench, providing feedback on emerging national initiatives and pilot testing new products for researchers.
