Assist in crafting data-driven solutions to tackle Spectrum's business challenges
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of core data science principles including algorithms, data structures, and major families of machine learning techniques
- Minimal experience using a data science toolkit such as Python or R and the ability to learn additional languages as needed, such as Scala or C
- Basic level SQL skills
- Prior exposure to big data tools such as Spark and Hive
- Strong background in mathematical and statistical concepts and the ability to learn new techniques
- Exposure to basic concepts in development of data tools and models, scripting, analysis or ETL, and basics of command line interfaces
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools like Pandas, Matplotlib, and Tableau
Responsibilities
- Research existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions
- Assist in the design and implementation of statistical data quality procedures for existing and new data sources
- Leverage knowledge in analytical and statistical algorithms to assist in helping stakeholders explore methods to improve their business under supervision
- Assist in the creation of presentation materials under the direction of a supervisor
- Participate in planning and monitoring projects from concept through implementation

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ years of data science experience
- 1+ years of programming experience
