UT Southwestern is looking to solve clinical and/or basic research problems in the field of Internal Medicine, Cardiology by providing analysis and developing algorithms and software.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree M.S. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, (Bio)mathematics, (Bio)statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Bachelor's Degree B.S. with demonstrated experience in broadly defined areas of bioinformatics
  • 0 to 2 years post-graduation experience in data analysis and/or scientific software development
  • Ability to analyze and develop formalisms, algorithms and software for applications in biomedical research
  • Ability to develop and maintain software tools and infrastructure for resolving specific problems
  • Ability to assist in the development, testing and revision of programs in a team with diverse bioinformatics expertise

Responsibilities

  • Process and manipulate an array of clinical and molecular data types
  • Develop, enhance and maintain clinical and molecular databases
  • Develop, enhance and maintain relevant pipelines for accessing and manipulating clinical and molecular databases using best practices
  • Develop and maintain clear and thorough database documentation
  • Create publication-ready visualizations, tables and other data summaries
  • Support researcher access to clinical and molecular database
  • Provide computational programming support to researchers

  • Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree with relevant experience
  • <1 year 0 to 2 years post-graduation experience
  • Ability to work in a team with diverse bioinformatics expertise
  • Ability to triage issues to the Principal Investigator and other staff as appropriate
  • Ability to assist in the development of study procedural documents
