UT Southwestern is looking to solve clinical and/or basic research problems in the field of Internal Medicine, Cardiology by providing analysis and developing algorithms and software.
Requirements
- Master's Degree M.S. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, (Bio)mathematics, (Bio)statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Bachelor's Degree B.S. with demonstrated experience in broadly defined areas of bioinformatics
- 0 to 2 years post-graduation experience in data analysis and/or scientific software development
- Ability to analyze and develop formalisms, algorithms and software for applications in biomedical research
- Ability to develop and maintain software tools and infrastructure for resolving specific problems
- Ability to assist in the development, testing and revision of programs in a team with diverse bioinformatics expertise
Responsibilities
- Process and manipulate an array of clinical and molecular data types
- Develop, enhance and maintain clinical and molecular databases
- Develop, enhance and maintain relevant pipelines for accessing and manipulating clinical and molecular databases using best practices
- Develop and maintain clear and thorough database documentation
- Create publication-ready visualizations, tables and other data summaries
- Support researcher access to clinical and molecular database
- Provide computational programming support to researchers
Other
- Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree with relevant experience
- <1 year 0 to 2 years post-graduation experience
- Ability to work in a team with diverse bioinformatics expertise
- Ability to triage issues to the Principal Investigator and other staff as appropriate
- Ability to assist in the development of study procedural documents
