UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Data Scientist I to participate in data science research projects on biomedical data, including electronic health records, digital pathology, and molecular profiling. The role involves applying advanced statistical and machine learning methods to cancer research and developing informatics analysis pipelines and tools.
Requirements
- Experience <1 year 0 to 2 years post-graduation experience in data analysis and/or scientific software development
- Analyzes and develops formalisms, algorithms and software for applications in biomedical research.
- Develops and maintains software tools and infrastructure for resolving specific problems.
- Assists in the development, testing and revision of programs in a team with diverse bioinformatics expertise.

Responsibilities
- Works under specific direction to provide analysis and develops algorithms and software for clinical and/or basic research problems.
- Impacts data acquisition, management, and analysis in basic, translational, and clinical research, including clinical trials.

Other
- Master's Degree M.S. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, (Bio)mathematics, (Bio)statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field or Bachelor's Degree B.S. with demonstrated experience in broadly defined areas of bioinformatics

- Performs other duties as assigned.
