Responsibilities
- Develop custom data science solutions from first principles by applying advanced knowledge in probability, statistics, and machine learning, especially in contexts where off-the-shelf models are ineffective.
- Apply techniques in graph mining and graph merging to solve large-scale, real-world data problems.
- Optimize large-scale algorithmic systems operating on petabyte-scale datasets using distributed computing frameworks.
- Conduct best-subset selection using information theory-based approaches to enhance targeting and performance strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate stakeholder requirements into actionable data science projects that align with business goals.
- Explore novel approaches and challenge traditional methodologies to enhance solution effectiveness and efficiency.
- Conduct scientific analysis to validate third-party data and evaluate whether they are useful for product.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree (U.S or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Social Science or related field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or related role OR Master’s degree (U.S or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Social Science or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
- Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from The Trade Desk, Inc. office in Culver City, CA
- Own the end-to-end data science pipeline for their projects, including identifying specific research questions, carrying out research, building methods that will solve research questions, working with engineering to implement at scale, and presenting results to relevant stakeholders.
