Veracyte is seeking to analyze millions of real-world insurance claims and electronic health record (EHR) data to identify clinical treatment patterns and outcomes, and transform complex data into meaningful insights that support clinical and business decision-making.
Requirements
- Proficiency in working with real-world data, including insurance claims and EHR records
- Strong skills in SQL and R programming
- Experience with data cleaning, manipulation, and visualization using tidyverse, ggplot2, or similar tools
- Expertise in statistical analysis, including survival modeling and hypothesis testing
- Experience working in cloud computing environments, preferably AWS
- Ability to communicate complex findings clearly and effectively
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling skills
Responsibilities
- Analyze real-world data to identify treatment patterns, clinical events, and management costs
- Identify key clinical events such as cancer progression and treatments using CPT, NDC, ICD codes, and free-text data
- Conduct statistical analyses and survival modeling to interpret clinical outcomes from large datasets
- Create visualizations to effectively communicate data insights and tell compelling stories
- Support the development of digital pathology AI models in collaboration with data scientists and medical experts
- Assist in preparing scientific manuscripts, figures, and presentations for peer-reviewed journals and conferences
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including bioinformaticians, statisticians, and clinicians
Other
- PhD in Statistics, Data Science, or an equivalent field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a data or applied scientist
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements
