PlayStation is looking to evaluate the impact of PS4 to PS5 user migration initiatives, growth marketing strategies, and broader campaign performance through experimentation and measurement.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of A/B testing concepts and foundational causal inference methods
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation
- Proficiency in Python
- Broad and applied knowledge of statistical techniques and machine learning modeling methods
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze A/B tests and quasi-experiments to assess the impact of various initiatives and campaigns
- Support test setup, hypothesis development, and interpretation of results in partnership with product managers, engineers, and marketers
- Independently retrieve and analyze data from complex data systems using SQL and Python
- Translate experimental results into actionable recommendations that influence decision-making
- Contribute to the development and adoption of experimentation best practices and tools
- Stay current on developments in experimentation and causal inference and bring innovative thinking to work
- Share insights and collaborate with fellow data scientists to elevate experimentation capabilities across the team
Other
- Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Economics, or Econometrics. Other degrees in quantitative disciplines may be considered
- 2–4 years of experience in a data science experimentation-focused role (less with PhD)
- Ability to communicate data-driven insights to cross-functional stakeholders
- Interest in or knowledge of video games, gaming platforms, or player behavior (bonus)
