Requirements
- Experience with analysis applications (extracting insights, performing statistical analysis, or solving business problems)
- Coding experience (Python, R, SQL)
- Experience with AI/ML
- Experience in designing and building statistical forecasting models
- Experience in energy and climate domain or greenhouse gas accounting
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, support, and enhance custom estimation and forecasting tools for the energy-use and carbon-footprint of Google’s AI machine infrastructure
- Develop data pipelines and modeling tools that help Google improve its measurements and forecasts of carbon emissions
- Build optimizations and simulation tools to help Google develop a greenhouse gas reduction strategy to a range of possible future scenarios
- Drive analysis and modeling, drawing from multiple investigative methods and choosing the right method and level of complexity appropriate for the business issues
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
- 5 years of work experience with analysis applications and coding, or 2 years work experience and Master's degree
- Master's degree or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field (preferred)
