Red Hat is looking for Data Science interns to help quantify the health and sustainability of open source software communities by applying data management and analysis techniques. The goal is to gain insights into how Red Hat fosters its open source communities to grow its business and provide timely reports of upstream activities to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Background in Computer Science and some familiarity with data science concepts
- Proficiency in Python and Git
- Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines and analyze data to foster data-driven decisions
Responsibilities
- Apply data management and analysis techniques to quantify the health and sustainability of open source software communities.
- Create a system/toolset where an experimental-model analysis can be run on changes made within an open source community, upon need
- Develop machine learning, data mining, and statistical techniques and algorithms to create new, scalable solutions to address community problems by analysis of large amounts of data
- Collaborate with community leaders to apply results to actionable items
- Translate key findings into visualized presentations
