The University of Florida's Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is seeking a Data Scientist IV to develop, implement, and coordinate data management in translational and implementation science research projects aimed at improving health care quality, outcomes, and well-being for older adults.
Requirements
- Expertise in database design and complex statistical methods and algorithms
- Knowledge of RedCap
- Knowledge of SQL or other relational database management systems
- Knowledge of basic principles of clinical research
- Proficiency with general statistical software (e.g. SAS, R)
- Proficiency with machine learning frameworks (R, Python, Weka, RapidMiner, etc)
- Experience with EMRs (such as Epic), systems, and data design
Responsibilities
- Selecting and applying appropriate analytical methods to answer questions and test hypotheses as specified by clinical researchers, administrators, and clinicians
- Design of research and operational databases and statistical analyses, and development of reporting infrastructures
- Providing leadership to domain experts on issues related to principles of data science and analytical methods
- Prioritizing and coordinating multiple tasks to achieve tight deadlines
- Complying in a timely manner with administrative requests and requirements
- Utilizing data science and statistical software such as Python, R, and SAS to analyze and interpret research data
- Developing queries and manipulating data for deployment to real-time systems used in data activities
Other
- A doctorate in a related field with two years of relevant experience in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field
- A Master's degree with three to five years of relevant experience
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
- Ability to work effectively and independently
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Customer-service orientation and/or experience working with older adults
