Custom Manufacturing & Engineering, Inc. (CME) is seeking a Data Scientist – Computer Vision & Machine Learning to push the limits of AI in real-time inspection and quality assurance for manufacturing, defense, and security
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
- Experience with computer vision libraries (OpenCV, YOLO, PyTorch)
- Strong background in preprocessing, cleaning, and managing large-scale, unstructured data
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- 1–3 years in a Data Scientist or Computer Vision Engineer role, with proven hands-on work in deep learning for imagery/video
- Experience with deep learning models (e.g., ResNet, GANs, YOLO) for computer vision tasks
- Knowledge of edge computing platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, TI Edge AI)
Responsibilities
- Design, train, and optimize deep learning models (e.g., ResNet, GANs, YOLO) for computer vision tasks such as classification, detection, and segmentation
- Develop algorithms to process and analyze real-time video and imagery with low latency and high accuracy
- Create and improve large-scale image and video datasets using data-centric approaches
- Conduct experiments, tune hyperparameters, and evaluate model performance with ablation studies and other best practices
- Deploy models to production environments, including edge computing platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, TI Edge AI)
- Perform data cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering to ensure high-quality model inputs
- Analyze and visualize results to communicate insights and model behavior to technical and non-technical teams

- U.S. Citizen (born in the U.S. or naturalized) or a lawful permanent resident (green card holder)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in a Data Scientist or Computer Vision Engineer role
- Problem-solving mindset, strong communication, and the ability to thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments
- Must meet 'U.S. Person' requirements (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) due to access to technology subject to ITAR/EAR
