Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Data Scientist to provide Data Analytics support for transportation projects, requiring proficiency in Data Analysis, Geospatial data analysis, and statistical modeling to handle large static and near real-time streaming data sources.
Requirements
- Proficient in Data Analysis
- Proficient in Geospatial data analysis
- Proficient in statistical modeling
- Experience in evaluating and developing statistical models and pipelines across data metrics
- Experience utilizing geographic information systems (GIS) software to conduct analysis and develop maps and dashboards
- Experience working in various database software programs including Microsoft Suite
- Ability to analyze transportation data sources and identify performance metrics in speed performance, travel patterns, and other key metric areas
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced data analytics and Statistical modeling, including the use of big data analytics working with large static and near real time streaming data sources
- Meet with team members and clients to determine appropriate approaches to data analytics, including defining performance measures and statistical analysis
- Create and generate detailed reports, documentation, and user interactive dashboard based on data analytics, including GIS and PowerBI
- Manage and monitor cloud based data analytics platform(s), such as Databricks or others, for the purpose of providing efficient data analytics
- Research best practices in data management and analytics and remain current with industry trends and innovation
- Oversee project and task development, including providing support to junior level professionals
- Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects

- Primarily remote-based, with occasional office and client travel required.
