AEP is looking to solve high-value business problems across the organization by conducting intermediate analysis on various data types to uncover hidden patterns and unknown correlations to support business and management decisions, specifically in support of the 'Perfect Power' initiative.
Requirements
- Experience with analytics packages, such as R and Python
- Utilizes analytics and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, Tableau, SAS, SPSS, and others to perform analysis and interpret data
- Artificial intelligence (AI) implementation
- Data mining, data auditing, aggregation, validation, and reconciliation
- Predictive analytics for all advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) products
- Data visualization tools
- Statistical software
Responsibilities
- Develop moderately complex analytical tools to solve high-value business problems across AEP
- Utilize analytical tools and data management skills to provide actionable business intelligence
- Develop components of predictive and prescriptive systems to optimize operations and support strategic initiatives
- Apply data visualization tools to large data sets to enhance data understanding
- Perform research to keep abreast of industry practices
- Utilize inquiry skills to obtain a clear understanding of business processes and needs
- Collaborate with technology partners to develop data acquisition and data management practices
Other
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, data science, computer science or related technical field is required
- Two (2) years of relevant work experience is required
- Develop concise, meaningful written reports and provide oral presentation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine value that additional information derived from proper analysis could provide
- Work with stakeholders to determine business needs and priorities
