Pomelo Care is looking to improve pregnancy outcomes by transforming outcomes for pregnant people and babies with evidence-based pregnancy and newborn care at scale, and is seeking a data scientist to create, analyze, and visualize foundational data to improve the lives of moms and babies.
Requirements
- 3+ years professional experience in data analytics, data science, data engineering, or statistical analysis involving SQL
- 3+ years professional experience working in healthcare
- Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python)
- Experience with data dashboarding or visualization (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Metabase)
- Experience working with dbt
Responsibilities
- Become an expert in the data that Pomelo has about our patient care and clinical outcomes, and play a foundational role in building the data culture of Pomelo
- Collaborate on designing and implementing new systems that enable our non-clinical teams (e.g. Accounting, Revenue Cycle, Care Operations, Market Operations) to scale quickly and effectively
- Use data to identify and quantify opportunities to automate critical business processes
- Work with engineers and SMEs on building an AI-driven pipeline to automate the medical coding process, including data exploration, modeling, validation and optimization
- Define and implement metrics that measure the performance of key systems including medical coding and claims submissions
- Build robust, data-driven approaches for pattern matching claims denials and rejections, documentation quality for billing purposes, patient eligibility determinations, and more
