Amazon's Operations Compensation team needs a Data Scientist to extract meaning from large volumes of data to influence business decisions and advise on compensation strategies for over a million employees worldwide.
Requirements
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
- Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company
Responsibilities
- Develop forecasting models or improve existing approaches using scalable techniques.
- Partner with customers to define the data elements and data structures that the team should leverage to enable analytical capabilities.
- Design and implement applications that enable business leaders to build their own scenarios using pre-defined forecasting models.
- Collaborate with Economists on statistical models and techniques to conduct analysis.
- Closely work with engineering teams to build scalable, efficient systems that implement prototypes in production.
- Make recommendations for new methods, techniques, and strategies to drive success of our organization.
- Engage directly with Amazon executive leadership to recommend business intelligence solutions.
