MidAmerican Energy company is seeking to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization by leveraging Microsoft Azure as the core data and analytics platform and solving complex business problems using data science techniques and cloud-native tools.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure DevOps
- Proficiency in Python similar programming languages.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale data sets.
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and Agile development practices.
- Experience with Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, and related services.
- Experience with Power BI
- Experience with data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure-native tools.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data science solutions that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and sustainability.
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and advanced analytics solutions using Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, and related services.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure-native tools.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and model validation using Python or similar languages.
- Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure data quality, governance, and security across the Azure ecosystem.
- Communicate findings and insights through compelling visualizations and dashboards using Power BI.
- Contribute to the development of best practices, reusable assets, and knowledge sharing within the data science community of practice.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Master’s in data science or related technical field preferred.
- Eighteen months of work and/or internship experience required for level 1.
- Proven experience working in the utility industry is required
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and mentor junior engineers.
