The United Nations is looking to leverage data and technology to drive corporate-level business solutions and evidence-based decision support by analyzing historical trends, current data, and predictions.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of statistical and computational methods, such as clustering, classification, correlation, dimension reduction, forecasting, machine learning, detecting outliers, and regression.
  • Knowledge of Data Science tools such as Jupyter, Matlab, Knime, SPSS, SAS, or similar Statistical Programming Languages such as R, Python, Javascript.
  • Experience with large datasets such as Hadoop, Spark, or related.
  • Experience in the implementation and/or support of enterprise data analytics product using PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Experience leveraging Microsoft suite, including Copilot Studio.
  • Experience with data modeling and algorithm development.
  • Experience with predictive modeling and A/B testing framework.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data and technology to drive corporate level business solutions.
  • Mine and analyze data from organization databases to drive optimization and improvement of programme development, advocacy and business strategies.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize entity experiences, benefit realization and other business outcomes.
  • Develop organization A/B testing framework and test model quality.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement corporate data analytics projects and monitor outcomes.

Other

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in data science, computer science, information management, statistics, public administration, public information, management or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, data science, business analysis, applied mathematics, information management or related area.
  • At least two years of experience in engaging with clients and developing needs-based analysis for the advancement of their data and digital transformation strategy.
  • English is required at UN Level II for reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
  • Ability to apply judgment in the context of assignments given, plan own work and manage conflicting priorities.
