Serco is looking to solve complex challenges, improve processes, and utilize the latest technologies to deliver top-tier products and services to their government clients, specifically supporting the Army Sustainment Command (ASC) by enhancing decision support tools and enterprise analytics infrastructure.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Data Scientist with a wide range of customer requirements in the Army supply systems and operations.
- Knowledge and application of mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific principles, methods, and techniques.
- Functional knowledge of Army retail and wholesale logistics systems, including the Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A) and Army Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), along with their interfaces.
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of data programming, planning, organizing, coordinating activities such as: developing customer interface tools and dashboards, analyzing stockage performance, implementing corrective actions, tracking and monitoring internal and external processes.
- Knowledge of logistics database development and supply procedures including developing and documenting functional processing logic, programming specifications, data types and relationships, and functional testing.
- Broad knowledge and utilization of Oracle, TOAD, SQL, and the GCSSA Business Intelligence Suite of Tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Tools, including Microsoft Excel and Access.
Responsibilities
- Enhance/Develop/Sustain decision support tools along with internal and external portals using data/tools such as Army VANTAGE, ADVANA, Microsoft Power Automate; PowerBI, Python, Structured Query Language (SQL), Statistical Analysis System (SAS), Oracle, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Suite of products, machine learning methods, and other data analytics tools, as necessary.
- Perform research, analysis, and programming model development projects on requirements and architecture.
- Develops, analyzes, and recommends new methodologies to integrate data from various sources and systems.
- Analyze complex data elements and systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to conceptual physical and logical process and procedure models.
- Develop data set processes.
- Use programming languages and tools to identify and develop ways to improve reliability, efficiency, and quality for analysis missions, organizational goals, and future planning.
- Define deficiencies and shortfalls, recommends corrective actions to data architecture, and executes approved revisions
