The Data Specialist 2 position is a mid-level role focused on managing and executing eDiscovery data processing and loading, ensuring compliance with ESI specifications, and resolving data-related issues within the DOJ's IT environment.
Requirements
- Experience with LAW, IPRO, Relativity or other document processing platform.
- Working knowledge of personal computers, including Windows, document review software, and encryption methods.
- At least two years’ experience performing eDiscovery roles including but not limited to electronic files processing (EFP), image and data file conversion, data culling using review tools, quality assurance, database loads and retrieval, and data analysis.
- Intermediate experience with Relativity/Relativity One, LAW, and Concordance.
- Everlaw experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with ICONECT, Relativity, MS Office Suite, and West LiveNote valued.
Responsibilities
- Performs file manipulation, loading, conversion services, database indexing, and quality checks of loads.
- Develops, evaluates and modifies methodologies and procedures for manipulating files for use with COTS products and litigation support applications.
- Performs advanced tasks related to exporting data from contractor and DOJ databases, including: identifying data for export, confirming redactions and other markups, ensuring that exports comply with applicable ESI specifications, and quality check of exported data.
- Manage and execute all aspects of eDiscovery data processing and data loading. This includes processing of raw data and loading of load-ready data sets.
- Identify and report processing and loading errors/issues to senior team members.
- Perform assigned QC tasks.
- Scan paper documents.
Other
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) facility credentials/authorization.
- Requires knowledge of litigation discovery process, and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflow.
- Knowledge of Government’s IT environment, including office automation networks, PC and server based applications preferred.
- This is a full-time position (40 hours a week).
- This is currently a HYBRID work position located at a secured facility in Washington, DC.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be willing to work on a flexible or dead-line driven schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.
