M&T Bank is looking to enhance its Customer 360 Data Management Platform to provide a comprehensive view of customers, their accounts, banking behaviors, and interactions. This involves identifying, classifying, and managing customer data from various internal and third-party sources to support strategic decision-making, improve customer communications, and deliver personalized experiences.
Requirements
- Knowledge of relational databases and database architecture
- Knowledge of common data issues
- Basic knowledge of data management
- Advanced skills in Standard Query Language (SQL)
- Basic knowledge of statistics, data science techniques and tools
- Experience remediating data issues
- Data classification and privacy experience
Responsibilities
- Identify the most accurate data field(s) when domain and system of record data is sourced for internal projects and/or products by querying data sources and databases.
- Maintain accurate metadata, definitions and lineage on all domain data using industry-standard governance platforms.
- Translate business data needs into data requirements and technical specifications with guidance from source systems SMEs and technical partners.
- Classify data assets to meet regulatory and privacy requirements, including identifying personally identifiable information (PII) and payment card information (PCI) data with guidance from source system and business SMEs and more senior team members.
- Evaluate, identify, and investigate data issues to ensure quality of the final data product.
- Support deployment of data quality rules and verification that rules accommodate domain specific nuances.
- Document metadata, data definitions and lineage from source to consumption views in Confluence

- Maintain knowledge of domain's products and services, and an understanding of how data supports those offerings.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.

- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years related experience
