Xcel Energy is looking for interns with data visualization, data management, and data governance skills to create engaging and informative dashboards and reports from datasets, and to deal with complex, multi-variable problems using innovative analytics.
Requirements
- Experience with data visualization tools/languages such as Power BI, SAP Cloud Analytics, SQL, Python, MS Project, etc.
- Experience or interest in data collection, data mapping, processing, cleaning, validation, and documentation
- Ability to create engaging and informative dashboards and reports from data.
- Experience working with large data sets, especially leveraging Databricks
- Power Platform development experience (PowerApps, PowerBI, Power Automate)
Responsibilities
- Develop solutions leveraging various tools and techniques to present data in meaningful ways
- Implement scalable solutions in data-driven environments
- Data extraction, analysis, and visual presentation
- Support the Energy Pulse presentation platform that is used for metric dashboards in Executive Leader reviews
- Create engaging and informative dashboards and reports from data
- Presenting key findings and storytelling using data visualizations
- Power Platform development experience (PowerApps, PowerBI, Power Automate)
Other
- Current student, Junior status (as of Fall 2026) or higher.
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Business/Data Analytics, Mathematics/Computer Science, Statistics, or similar program involving data and process skills.
- Passion for learning (including new techniques / technologies), attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable interacting across organizational groups
- This position is for a June 1st, 2026 start.
