Improving the technology supporting the Air Force by ensuring the current infrastructure is functional and available, and identifying problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network.
Requirements
- Experience working with database administration
- Experience working with HADOOP, MS SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
- Experience designing the physical structure of complex databases
- Knowledge of complex data management concepts, principles, and methods
- Ability to implement strategic data planning practices
- Knowledge of software programming languages, including Ada, C, C++, COBOL, Java, Fortran, Pascal, and Visual Basic
- Knowledge of applications software development and design concepts and techniques
Responsibilities
- Ensure the current infrastructure is functional and available
- Constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and best implementation strategies
- Update and patch critical systems
- Help customers overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management
- Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network
- Track software licenses and hardware warranties to complement the operations and configuration of the network
- Work closely with the cybersecurity team and equipment specialists

- Top Secret clearance required
- HS diploma or GED required
- TS/SCI clearance preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and turn metrics into information
