Steampunk is looking to solve the problem of delivering features to support cloud, data center and infrastructure for multiple systems within their growing DevSecOps practice.
Requirements
- 3 Years of Experience developing/ administering/ securing transactional or analytical databases in MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or MariaDB
- 3 Years of Experience with Azure managed SQL Instance
- In-depth knowledge of T-SQL, MySQL/mariaDB or PL/SQL querying
- Knowledge of data conversion
- Familiarity with connection strings / odbc / oledb interfaces for web and client applications
- Familiarity with Azure Data Explorer, SQL Server Management Studio, MySQL Workbench, SQL Developer or other development packages
- 3 Years of Experience with scripting using Python, Bash or PowerShell
Responsibilities
- Design and implement system architecture (hardware, software, virtualized components and network components) for cloud and on-premises environments
- Plan and manage system upgrades or patching to meet business needs
- Implement network segmentation to enhance security and performance
- Install and configure operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, macOS) and other enterprise services
- Develop automation scripts (using Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) to reduce manual tasks.
- Install and configure storage systems (e.g. SAN, NAS) and manage data backups
- Monitor system performance and availability issues and troubleshoot issues through robust root cause analysis
Other
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
- BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations preferred
- Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members
