CliquePrize is looking for a Database College Intern to help grow their iPhone mobile app, which assists local brick-and-mortar small businesses through giveaways and digital promotions. The intern will focus on database migration, architecture, API security, data classification, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and data flow logic.

Requirements

  • Angular (v15–21) for front-end development.
  • Swift / SwiftUI for iOS app integration.
  • Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Cloudflare R2/D1, or other cloud databases.
  • Understanding of API design and RESTful services.
  • Basic knowledge of data encryption, authentication, and security best practices.
  • Experience using Git, Postman, or VS Code.
  • Requires some SWIFT coding modifications

Responsibilities

  • Connect the main database for the CliquePrize® Admin Site built in Angular 21
  • Connect and configure database for the Sponsor Assets Microsite (also to be built in Angular 21)
  • Lead the non-sensitive user database migration for the CliquePrize® app developed in SWIFT to the new multi-cloud setup.
  • Implement secure and efficient API data routing between Azure (sensitive data) where the app is hosted and Cloudflare ( for non-sensitive data) environments.
  • Work with the Azure API Gateway to ensure all requests are routed through a single API layer managing authentication, authorization, and logging.
  • Assist in implementing OAuth2/OIDC, Azure AD, and short-lived token-based access controls.
  • Help design and maintain a data classification matrix identifying sensitive, PII, financial, and other regulated data.

  • This is a non-paid position but Academic Credit is available (if offered through your university).
