Cydecor is looking for a database developer to help administer and develop a data warehouse that fuses U.S. Navy readiness information from over one hundred diverse sources into a single database structure.
Requirements
- Proficient in schema design, including relationship modeling, data discovery, and normalization; skilled in query optimization, SQL, T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and indexing.
- Hands-on experience with database administration, design, and development, as well as implementing data warehousing solutions.
- Practical experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Hadoop, and with version control systems including Git and Azure Repos.
- Proficient in shell scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Zsh.
- Working knowledge of C-Sharp and the .NET framework or other object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Scala
- Experience with Cognos BI for system administration and report development
- Databricks experience and knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily task assignments, actively participate in scheduled team meetings, and evaluate requirements to support database development initiatives.
- Design and implement database solutions aligned with configuration management practices; develop source code (Stored Procedures), create BI reports, and produce supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with the Tech Lead, Solution Architect, and fellow developers to define and execute the project’s technical vision.
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats, clearly conveying ideas and explaining design benefits and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
