The business problem is to ensure the quality of distribution center (DC) operations, exceed customer expectations, and maintain a low cost of operation by effectively managing warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory accuracy, and procedural compliance.
Requirements
- Previous exposure to WMS software
- Working knowledge of PC spreadsheet and word processing software
- Advanced computer skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and match numerical and alpha characters quickly and accurately
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the configuration and maintenance of WMS at the DC level and make recommendations for procedural and system changes.
- Oversee the quality of DC operations with the goal of exceeding customer expectations at a low cost of operation.
- Coordinate WMS configurations at the DC level which includes reviewing location set-up, rule sets, and item master configurations to ensure validity.
- Work directly with distribution systems coordinator to ensure DC configurations are tested and comply with corporate standards.
- Review the inventory adjustments made each day to ensure validity.
- Perform procedural audits of all areas of the DC and report results to the distribution systems and DC operations management.
- Coordinate and provide support of slotting of product for maximum efficiency.
