Best Buy is looking to solve the business problem of driving data-driven decision-making and influencing business strategy through advanced analytics, specifically focusing on understanding relationships between 1P and 3P businesses, sales and promo effectiveness, assortment performance, and value targeting for growth tactics.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of experience applying analytical techniques to answer business questions or scientific questions
  • 1 or more years of experience leveraging data science and data visualization tools, such as SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, SAS, R and/or Python

Responsibilities

  • Drive data-driven decision-making and influence business strategy through advanced analytics.
  • Lead analytics projects to understand the relationships between our 1P and 3P businesses, the effectiveness of sales and promo strategies, the performance of various segments of our assortment, and value targeting and measurement of various other growth tactics.
  • Performing advanced analytics, measurement, and decision support for Best Buy’s non-retail customer-facing experiences (Digital, Category, Marketplace, Services, and Support).
  • Driving our Share Growth strategies and supporting our 1P and 3P category teams who make decisions regarding vendor partnerships, assortment, pricing, and customer experiences.
  • Influence cross-functional teams by providing compelling data-driven insights that guide strategic decisions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business team, using data analytics to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Present complex analytics results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, crafting clear, persuasive narratives that drive action.

  • Keep abreast of new theories, strategies and best practices in the industry and think beyond current knowledge and existing assumptions to develop new solutions, applications and strategies
  • 1 or more years of experience influencing and presenting to all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated success collaborating/influencing cross functional business teams/decisions
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data into impactful business insights.
  • Advanced stakeholder management and relationship building skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results on time.
