Ibotta is seeking a Decision Scientist to contribute to the mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding by providing actionable and data-driven recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL knowledge; Knowledge of common data science software development packages (PySpark, Python, R, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to drive projects end-to-end with minimal guidance/oversight, with examples of high-quality output that provide actionable, business-focused insights and recommendations
  • Experience in building visualizations using business intelligence tools such as Looker and Mode
  • Knowledge of statistics, machine learning, testing methodologies, and data engineering
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured data problems
  • Initiative to proactively anticipate and solve important problems
  • Curiosity and the commitment to continually ask questions of our data and business

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights to inform business decisions and understand consumer behavior to support the decision-making process
  • Work cross-functionally to analyze large amounts of behavioral and transaction data to provide clients with actionable insights about Ibotta's users and campaign performance
  • Execute and refine promotions and media measurement solutions using established methodologies; collaborate with client account teams to ensure all client deliverables are market-defensible and high-quality.
  • Maintain an understanding of industry trends in measurement and CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) to effectively position Ibotta's data value to advertisers.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting or streamline workflows to improve the efficiency of the Client Analytics team.
  • Communicate complex analyses and data intricacies in a clear, concise manner both internally as well as to external clients
  • Initiate and drive collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define project scope, responsibilities, and expectations

Other

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, or a related field required
  • 3+ years of practice experience in an analytical function
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to distill complex analytical solutions into actionable insights
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to collaborate across functional areas
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the capability to prioritize effectively
