Expedition Technology (EXP) is seeking a Deep Learning R&D Software Engineer to develop novel solutions for the Intelligence Community, addressing challenging real-world problems in national security with a focus on Geospatial Object Detection and adversarial attacks on overhead detection models.
Requirements
- Proven proficiency in PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other modern machine learning framework
- Solid theoretical understanding of deep neural networks as well as their applications, particularly in computer vision and object detection
- Proven experience architecting, training, testing, and deploying machine learning solutions within an AWS environment
- Experience using collaborative source code management tools (Git)
- Strong software development skills to include object-oriented design and implementation in languages like Python
- Strong practical experience developing in both object oriented and procedural languages
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle, CI/CD, agile/scrum methodologies
Responsibilities
- Develop ML orchestration pipelines for novel Geospatial Object Detection problems
- Apply Sim-to-Real ML dataset techniques
- Design and implement custom algorithms and evaluation metrics
- Produce technical reports
- Develop robust deep learning models against different types of ML-driven adversarial attacks
- Develop novel methods and algorithms, applicable to electro-optical (EO) imagery, for the detection, explanation, and mitigation of a wide range adversarial attacks on overhead detection models that operate in close to real-time
- Researching academic literature to keep abreast of the latest theories, techniques, and tools

- US Citizenship – must have an ACTIVE Top Secret / SCI Clearance
- An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- MS and 3+ years of experience or BS and 5+ years of experience in a technical field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics
- Strong technical presentation and writing skills
- Participate in team brainstorming sessions to shape innovative solutions
