Dell IT is looking to solve business and technical problems by modernizing and innovating cloud, commerce systems and applications, and embracing a new way of working to design, develop and deliver new products in line with business goals and timelines. The role aims to support Dell's digital transformation by developing high availability and highly scalable applications.
Requirements
- Strong Object-Oriented Analysis and Design skill or strong adherence to SOLID software design principles
- Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming languages; operating systems; device drivers; databases; system, network, operating system, and application administration; embedded software/firmware; tools and utilities, as applicable
- Able to code/debug simple programs using either written or verbal design specifications
- Beginner-level expertise in one or more of the following: Database programming (SQL)
- Beginner-level expertise in one or more of the following: Data modeling (ERD), mapping and implementation (DDL)
- Beginner-level expertise in one or more of the following: Business Intelligence software packages (Microsoft, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, or other)
- Beginner-level expertise in one or more of the following: Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to applications programming
Responsibilities
- Develop high availability and highly scalable applications which will be used by both internal and external customers
- Practice and facilitate Human-Centered Design (Design Thinking) methodologies
- Learn and balance user and business goals to achieve desirable, viable, and feasible solutions
- Work on interactive design projects that meet both user and business objectives, while maintaining and supporting brand standards
- Partner and collaborate effectively with researchers, engineers, designers, product owners, and business stakeholders on all initiatives
- Able to code/debug simple programs using either written or verbal design specifications
- Basic knowledge of coding, testing, and debugging simple applications
Other
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or similar field with a target graduation date of Spring 2027 or 2028
- Adapts well to unfamiliar situations and shifting demands; embraces change as an avenue for growth rather than a source of apprehension
