The Ohio State University's Department of Biomedical Informatics is seeking applicants for open rank tenure-track faculty in biostatistics to develop grant proposals, design studies, and contribute to the academic mission through teaching and mentoring.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or a related discipline
  • Expertise and interests in clinical trial, population health science, Bayesian statistics, epidemiology, causal inference, statistical learning, artificial intelligence (AI), high-dimensional data, and/or electronic medical records
  • Experience with statistical methods in AI/ML
  • Experience with large-scale, real-world datasets
  • Experience with novel omic data platforms
  • Experience with methodological innovation for large-scale datasets
  • Experience with high-dimensional data, including complex correlated structures

Responsibilities

  • Develop grant proposals and design studies for clinical trials, large cohorts, population research, basic science, and high-throughput omics
  • Contribute to the academic mission through teaching in graduate programs
  • Mentor M.S. and Ph.D. students, and supervise research trainees
  • Develop methodologies for clinical trials, population health science, Bayesian statistics, epidemiology, causal inference, statistical learning, artificial intelligence (AI), high-dimensional data, and/or electronic medical records
  • Collaborate with investigators across the health sciences campus
  • Work with large-scale, real-world datasets
  • Contribute to the development of novel omic data platforms and statistical methods in AI/ML
