Lockheed Martin's Scalable S-Band Radar (SSR) software organization is seeking a Deputy Lead Software Engineer to support Lead Software Engineers in leadership efforts, coordinate software development projects, resolve engineering design and test problems, and facilitate the resolution of development blockers for specific SSR program(s).
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience
- Experience leading a team in an Agile software environment
- Experience with planning and executing large SW efforts
- Strong technical leadership skills
- Experience supporting program proposals and performing software estimates
- Experience with Software Development Metrics
- Experience with GitLab, Atlassian Tools, SBOMs, Static Code Analysis, and Releasability
Responsibilities
- Coordinating the planning, organization, integration, and completion of software development projects.
- Coordinating activities concerned with technical development and resolving engineering design and test problems for specific SSR program(s).
- Identifying and facilitating the resolution of SW development blockers.
- Assisting in the development and ownership of software processes and future SW strategy.
- Leveraging proven processes, lessons learned, and best practices from other parts of business or industry.
- Reviewing program estimates and facilitating the collection of regular metrics to inform SW progress and serve as historical basis for future work.
- Supporting overall Agile development process through the planning and execution of Cycle Planning, Cycle Review, Retrospectives, and continuous monitoring throughout the development.
Other
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering/technical degree
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Level Clearance
- This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
- Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
