Pro Active Engineering is seeking a Design Engineering Intern to assist in the development, testing, and support of electronic hardware projects.
Requirements
- Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout software (Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or similar)
- Understanding of electronics fundamentals including analog and digital circuit design
- Experience with lab equipment and hands-on prototyping
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for electronics and eagerness to learn in a practical, team-based setting
Responsibilities
- Assisting in schematic design, circuit simulation, and PCB layout for new products
- Supporting the creation and modification of BOMs (Bill of Materials)
- Testing and debugging prototypes using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.)
- Assisting with component selection and library management in EDA tools (Altium, KiCad, etc.)
- Collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability) compliance
- Creating and updating design documentation, including assembly drawings, test procedures, and technical specs
- Supporting engineering change orders (ECOs) and revision control processes
Other
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful, permanent resident, Refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
