Moog Inc is looking for a Design Engineer Manager to lead the planning, organization, and direction of all design activities in the development of new products and for technical support for heritage products, while also building and leading a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Requirements
- 10 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5 years of experience in project management.
- Experience with motion control systems with a preferred focus on rotary and/or linear electromechanical actuators.
- Proven experience interfacing with customers
Responsibilities
- Planning, organization, and direction of all design activities in the development of new products and for technical support for heritage products.
- Provide support to the manufacturing team to assure operational readiness.
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team for analyzing product requirements, making cost and technical proposals, developing prototypes, finalizing the design, and design validation and verification.
- Work with leadership to determine long term product, skill, and organizational needs.
- Driving new product development and continuous improvement of existing products and processes.
- Presenting concepts, data, and recommendations to management and customers in formal design reviews.
- Managing projects and activities in a multiple project environment to meet high demand schedules, cost targets, and technical requirements.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics.
- 3 years of direct supervision / leadership experience.
- Ability to travel to customer sites to support sales and provide technical support (internationally and domestically).
- This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
