Ingalls Shipbuilding is looking for an engineer to design and modify HVAC systems for naval ships, ensuring efficient manufacturing operations and adherence to contractual specifications.
Requirements
- Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, AUTOCAD, SHIP CONSTRUCTOR and NAVISWORKS.
- High level of experience/efficiency for both AUTOCAD and SHIP CONSTRUCTOR.
- Primary function will be checking 3D Models, 2D Drawings and Siemens NX for VWI - Virtual Work Instructions.
- High level of profiency working P1 Weld Joints and Pipe Details.
Responsibilities
- Designs components or portions of HVAC systems and modifies existing HVAC designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
- Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, AUTOCAD, SHIP CONSTRUCTOR and NAVISWORKS.
- Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
- Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
- Primary function will be checking 3D Models, 2D Drawings and Siemens NX for VWI - Virtual Work Instructions.
- High level of profiency working P1 Weld Joints and Pipe Details.
Other
- Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience, or a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree (HS Diploma and 10 years of experience).
