Design and develop products consistent with seasonal trends and concepts, and customer/business needs for the Kids Decorative Accessories categories.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in of 3D modeling software: SolidWorks/ Rhino and Keyshot
  • Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Outlook are essential.
  • Experience with drafting and ability to quickly review and comment on drawings.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for hard and soft goods.
  • Experience with project management tools is a plus: Airtable, PLM, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop products consistent with seasonal trends and concepts, and customer/business needs.
  • Own the development process for each product from sketch to approval.
  • Design and manage product for the Kids Decorative Accessories categories, including, toys, mobiles, plushies, seasonal decor, storage and organization, wall art, mirrors and functional accessories.
  • Support the buying group’s design and development needs.
  • Identify key trends, build seasonal concepts, lead design presentations to senior management and ensure all product development deadlines and key calendar dates are met.
  • Create design renders, orthographic specs and comment forms that are clear and concise for overseas vendors.
  • Correspond with product development internal teams and overseas vendors to develop products.

Other

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in related field required.
  • Degree in design or equivalent experience.
  • Are passionate about design, style, and decorating.
  • Have exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Have an understanding of Kids related products and design considerations.
  • Love to work collaboratively in a group and have an innate willingness to dig in and contribute with your team.

  • Travel as needed to factories and buying shows domestically and internationally when WSI and governmental agencies deem is safe to do so.
  • This role requires being onsite in the Dumbo Brooklyn office
