Implementing FIX connectivity and developing trading applications for financial institutions

Requirements

• knowledge of FIX protocol
• experience with FIX message parsing and construction
• understanding of trading systems and financial institutions
• familiarity with session management and message sequencing
• experience with troubleshooting and debugging FIX issues

Responsibilities

• setting up and configuring connections between trading systems using the FIX protocol
• ensuring proper session management (logon, heartbeat, logout), and handling message sequencing
• building applications that interact with various financial institutions using FIX messages to send orders, receive execution reports, and manage trading activities
• understanding the structure of FIX messages, including header, body, and trailer, and correctly interpreting and generating tag-value pairs for different message types (e.g., New Order Single, Execution Report, Quote Request)
• identifying and resolving problems related to FIX connectivity, message formatting, session state, and order flow
