Booz Allen is looking for an AWS DevOps engineer to support clients in modernizing their IT infrastructures and meeting challenging missions by managing server configuration for modern cloud solutions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with AWS
- 2+ years of experience in the development of tools and processes to drive DevOps or DevSecOps maturity by automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting, triaging, and resolving issues for CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness
- 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation, and Configuration as Code (CaC) tools, including Ansible or Terraform
- 2+ years of experience with Bash, Python, and PowerShell scripting, and Linux system and Windows Server administration
- Experience with security scanning tools, DevSecOps practices such as SonarQube, and DevOps monitoring, logging, and alerting, including CloudWatch
- Knowledge of provisioning computer networking and storage, and setting up servers that the platform is on, including virtual machines (VMs) or networks
Responsibilities
- Manage server configuration for modern cloud solutions.
- Establish or provision virtual machines or networks.
- Use cloud service providers to further clients' missions.
- Develop, deploy, or manage IT infrastructures for crucial server and network components.
- Automate builds, regression testing, monitoring, and pushing releases across environments.
- Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve issues for CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness.
- Develop enterprise cloud-native solutions.

- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in DevOps, or 5+ years of experience in DevOps in lieu of a degree
- Experience with commercial tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Discourse, Overleaf, GitLab, GitLab Runners, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, Ansys products, Teamwork Cloud, MATLAB, Fortify, McAfee ePO, Splunk, or Nessus
- Experience with containerization and container orchestration, including Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS, CI/CD tools and practices, including GitLab CI and Jenkins, and the BIG-IP application delivery and security platform
- Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and security documentation
- Experience with serverless architecture, including API Gateway, and system design, including scalability and reliability
- Experience creating and improving continuous automation across multiple technical stacks, and triaging and resolving issues related to both open-source and commercial tools in public cloud environments
- Knowledge of container security, runtime protection, security best practices, compliance requirements, compliance automation, and continuous monitoring
- Secret clearance
- Master’s degree in a technical field
- IAT Level II or Level III Certification such as Security+ or CISSP Certification
- AWS Certification such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Certification
