General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is looking for a DevOps Engineer to contribute to automation that instantiates and maintains container orchestration platforms and automatically configures and deploys infrastructure services. The role involves supporting the successful implementation of the platform in the Cloud through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more, for critical internal and external platform consumers.
Requirements
- Experience working with, or are familiar with the differences between, public (AWS, Azure), private (RHOSP, VIO), and mixed cloud environments
- Container technologies such as Docker, or Kubernetes
- Deployment or use of continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Puppet, or Chef
- Experience supporting production-grade applications in virtualized environments (cloud computing platforms and services) using automation
- Creation or use of pipelines, Ansible Playbooks, and/or Terraform configurations to automate administrative actions from resource creation to service configuration
- IT security practices including encryption, certificates, key management, patch management, STIG, RMF, or security hardening, and auditing
- Installation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies such as Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, RHOSP, or VIO
Responsibilities
- Contribute to automation that instantiates and maintains container orchestration platforms
- Automatically configure and deploy infrastructure services consisting of identity and access management, network architecture, application security, logging, monitoring, deployment and more
- Work closely with our team to plan major updates and enhancements to our products
- Support successful implementation of the platform in the Cloud through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more
- Experience working with, or are familiar with the differences between, public (AWS, Azure), private (RHOSP, VIO), and mixed cloud environments
- Container technologies such as Docker, or Kubernetes
- Deployment or use of continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Puppet, or Chef

- Agile experience preferred.
- Department of Defense TS.SCI security clearance is required at time of hire.
