Electronic Arts is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their team to design, deploy, and operate solutions in a public cloud environment that interacts with corporate backend infrastructure and services. The role aims to improve reliability, reduce operational uncertainty through automation and observability, and support an always-on gaming server infrastructure.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with public cloud services (especially AWS and GCP), including design, implementation, and operational support.
- Container workload technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
- Configuration management systems such as Chef and Ansible.
- Monitoring/observability systems such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Pipeline automation systems such as Jenkins, GitLab, and GitHub.
- Experience developing automated IaC solutions using at least one of the following languages: Terraform, Python, Bash, Ruby, or Go.
- Working knowledge of the Git distributed version control system.
Responsibilities
- Assess incoming requests from partner teams for feasibility, applicability, and alignment with team priorities.
- Troubleshoot deployment issues, connectivity challenges, performance problems, and availability outages.
- Develop productivity enhancing tools to automate common system administration tasks.
- Maintain documentation of systems configurations and procedures, including runbooks for live support.
- Support an always-on gaming server infrastructure.
- Provide on-call support when needed for feature launches, live events, and emergency escalations.
- Troubleshoot and correct issues raised from production and live services operations.
Other
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a production DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure role.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to engage in on-call rotations for high-availability environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
- Experience using Splunk for log analysis and incident investigation.
