Intelliforce is looking for a DevOps Software Engineer III to design, build, and maintain a distributed metrics and monitoring solution for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems to ensure the reliability, scalability, and resilience of the infrastructure that drives intelligence and national security operations.
Requirements
- Strong experience with the Linux CLI.
- Hands-on experience developing Bash scripts and using Linux tools to automate processes.
- Recent software development experience in Python.
- Experience with Splunk for data collection, storage, and visualization.
- Proficiency with log management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka or other message brokers.
- Strong understanding of IaC principles and automation using Ansible.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and sustaining distributed monitoring and metrics solutions for HPC environments.
- Leveraging Linux CLI and scripting to automate processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve operational efficiency.
- Developing modern solutions in Python for automation and monitoring.
- Integrating and working with Splunk for data collection, message brokers, data storage, and presentation.
- Configuring and interfacing with log management tools such as Syslog-ng and rsyslog.
- Implementing and supporting message brokers like Kafka.
- Applying Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles using tools like Ansible.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, plus 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer, OR 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Collaborating in Agile development environments to ensure mission-focused delivery.
- Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and pipelines, preferably using GitLab CI.
