Support Paint Shop quality systems that impact pre-paint finish, corrosion, application, finish, paint repair, and new model launch areas through the development of process improvements, innovations, and software tools. The paint shop digitalization co-op will engage in problem solving activities related to quality and process flow topics.
Requirements
- Proficiency in data engineering and analysis utilizing tools such as Python, SQL, or similar
- Preferred experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Quicksight, etc.
- On-premises / Cloud Database management preferred.
- Application development / design (Oracle APEX / Power Apps / Other low-code-no-code platforms) preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience
- Agile Working Methodology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Support Paint Shop quality systems that impact pre-paint finish, corrosion, application, finish, paint repair, and new model launch areas through the development of process improvements, innovations, and software tools.
- Engage in problem solving activities related to quality and process flow topics.
- Work with department management teams to communicate existing concepts to improve transparency of the quality landscape and vehicle / information flow management.
- Investigate the next generation of flow concepts, software tools, and assess feasibility and potential benefits.
- Develop new ways to display operations / quality data that facilitates a faster and clearer path from problem recognition to solution.
- Develop new mobile software solutions to streamline the defect documentation process and other quality related processes.
- Develop or enhance tools to improve visibility of paint shop quality process adherence.
Other
- Must be an enrolled student during all three rotations.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
- Effective communication skills.
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
