Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience. 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
- A proven track record of delivering complex backend or infrastructure products, ideally related to migrations or cloud services.
- Strong technical background in distributed systems, cloud platforms, and systems design.
- Ability to balance engineering trade-offs with customer and business impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of tools and systems that help customers seamlessly migrate to DigitalOcean’s cloud platform.
- Define the engineering roadmap for the migration experience, balancing short-term needs with long-term platform goals.
- Own team health and delivery—creating clarity around goals, fostering psychological safety, and setting high technical standards.
- Establish and track success metrics to ensure engineering efforts are delivering measurable customer and business value.
- Champion operational excellence, scalable architecture, and a developer-first mindset.
