Workwear Outfitters is looking for a Director, Application Engineering to lead all application engineering and application support services for the organization, driving modernization in technology and ways of working.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in technology engineering (the design, development, implementation, diagnosis, or repair of technology solutions), modern software development practices and the product operating model.
- Proven experience in technology solution engineering and application support services.
- Deep expertise in modern software development practices and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of product operating models and their application in technology solutions.
- Excellent leadership and change management skills, with experience leading teams of 30+ staff.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 10+ full-time employees (FTE) and 20+ contracted staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Oversee an outsourced managed service program valued at nearly $5M per year, ensuring service delivery meets or exceeds expectations.
- Drive the adoption of modern software development practices and methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Drive change towards a product operating model where application engineering leads act as Product Managers over their domain of solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute application engineering strategies and product roadmaps that align with business goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the application engineering team, promoting professional growth and development.
- Manage the application support services, ensuring timely resolution of issues and continuous improvement of support processes.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field/experience; advanced degree preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the clothing manufacturing and apparel industry is a plus.
