Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Data Science and Engineering in a corporate setting, with 4+ years of experience as a manager
- Ability to dive into technical details of safety research, autonomous vehicles systems, and the full data lifecycle while simultaneously developing safety measurement strategy
- Experience in safety, automotive, or robotics data science
- Experience generating insights from multiple large-scale datasets
- Proficiency SQL and/or Python
- Proven track record of managing data science projects from concept to implementation, delivering impactful business outcomes
- Strong business consulting skills; ability to evaluate the big picture and solve strategic business problems
Responsibilities
- Define performance targets and measurement strategy for on-road autonomous vehicle performance
- Develop scalable autonomous vehicle performance measurement solutions to verify safe and compliant on-road autonomous behavior
- Raise the bar for on-road safety by continuously improving safety and autonomous vehicle measurement and developing a feedback loop for software improvements
- Lead and manage a team of data scientists, statisticians, and engineers providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure successful project delivery and professional growth
- Collaborate across various autonomous vehicle development teams, including GPSSC,Software & Services, Legal, and Product organizations
- Stay up to date on industry trends,advancements, and reach in data science and AI/ML to drive innovation within the team
- Foster a culture of collaboration, experimentation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the data science team and broader community
Other
- Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Transporation, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or other quantitative field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, develop, and evaluate high-performing talent
